Art District 798
An art area, which brings together artists and provocative art. I like to go there to wonder around, visit exhibitions or go shopping.
Favorite exhibition: My personal Universe financed by Louis Vuitton. Read more about the exhibition HERE.
Favorite store: Handmade leather bags.
How to get there: Take bus no 401 from Dongzhimen bus terminal or next to Sanyuanqiao metro station. Get off at: Da shan zu lu kou stop. Cross the street over the pedestrian bridge and look for read sign 798.
Many of the galleries close quite early – around 18.00 and are also closed on Mondays.
Must see places in Beijing
Forbidden city - takes about an half a day to visit the place
Mausoleum of Mao Zedong - I have not been there but be ready to wait couple of hours in a line...
Summer Palace - a nice place to walk around but for me nothing special...
Hutongs - old living areas of Beijing. As they are taking down the hutongs to build sky scrapers instead you should visit these areas. I love to walk around in hutongs, pop into cafeterias for a meal or coffee.
There are couple of different places you can go to:Metro stop: Yonghehong Lama Temple (Crossing of line 5 and 2), Exit: C
Metro stop: Guloudajie, Exit ??
